Open Anything
Jump to any table, saved query or command from the keyboard with ⌘K.
Open Anything is a quick search for everything in the current window: tables, views, functions, saved queries, history and commands. It's the fastest way to move around without touching the mouse.
Open it
- Press
⌘K(View ▸ Open Anything…), or - Click Search or run a command in the top bar.
Type a few letters of what you're looking for, then choose a result to open it.
What it searches
| Kind | What happens when you open it |
|---|---|
| Tables and views | Opens the table in a tab. |
| Functions | Opens a new query tab with SELECT fn();, without running it. |
| Favorites | Opens the saved query in a new query tab, without running it. |
| History | Opens the past query in a new query tab, without running it. |
| Actions | Runs the command. |
Objects and favorites are ranked above history entries.
Open Anything searches the current schema only. To find objects in another schema, switch to it first with Switch to Schema.
Fuzzy matching
You don't need to type a name exactly or from the start. Open Anything matches the letters you type in order, anywhere in the name, and ranks results higher when the letters fall:
- At the start of a word or after a separator such as
_or.. - At a camelCase boundary.
- In a consecutive run.
So ordit finds order_items, and usrprf finds user_profiles. The matched letters are highlighted in green.
When nothing fits, you'll see No matches.
Actions
Open Anything also lists commands for the current window. Only the ones that apply right now are shown — for example, Commit Changes appears only when you have pending edits.
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| New Query Tab | ⌘T |
| Reload | ⌘R |
