Redis & MongoDB

Browse and edit Redis keys and MongoDB documents in dedicated browser windows.

Redis and MongoDB connections don't open the SQL workspace. Instead, each opens its own browser window, built for keys or documents. Both windows show the connection's status stripe, and every write goes through safe mode.

Redis

The Redis browser works with Redis and with compatible servers such as Valkey, KeyDB and Dragonfly.

Window and safe mode

The card at the top of the window has a menu with the Safe Mode picker and Open Connection….

Databases

The database picker lists each database as db<N> · <count> keys. The window starts at the connection's Database index, which must be a number.

Key list

  • Type a pattern in the Pattern field, for example user:*, to filter keys with SCAN MATCH.
  • Keys are loaded 200 at a time. Click Load more keys… to fetch the next page.
  • Click ↻ (Scan again) to rescan from the start.
  • Click + to create a new key.

Each key shows a badge with its type and its TTL.

Key actions

Open a key's ⋯ menu for:

ActionDescription
Rename…Rename the key with RENAMENX. It never overwrites an existing key.
Set Expiry…Set a TTL in seconds.
Remove ExpiryMake the key persistent.
ReloadRead the key again.
Delete Key…Delete the key.

Editing values

TypeEditing
StringA text editor with Format JSON, Revert and Save (⌘S). Saving keeps the key's TTL.
Hash, list, set, sorted setAdd items with Append or Add, remove them with Remove…, then Save (⌘S).
StreamRead-only.

Edits that need several commands run together inside MULTI/EXEC.

  • Binary values are shown with \x escapes and are read-only.
  • At most 1,000 elements are loaded per key.

Module types (such as those added by Redis modules) aren't supported.

New key

Click + to open the new key sheet:

  1. Enter the Key.
  2. Choose a Type: STRING, HASH, LIST, SET or ZSET.
  3. Fill in the Field, Score, and Value or Member, as the type requires.
  4. Click Create.

A new key never overwrites an existing one.

Safe mode

Every write goes through the connection's safe mode. The confirmation shows the exact redis-cli commands that will run.

MongoDB

The MongoDB browser works with MongoDB 3.6 and later.

The sidebar lists your databases. Expand one to see its collections; views and read-only collections are marked.

Query bar

FieldExample
Filter{ status: "paid", total: { $gt: 100 } }
Sort{ _id: -1 }

Click Find (⌘↩) to run the query. Results are shown 50 documents per page; use ‹ and › to move between pages.

There are no projection or limit fields.

Document editor

Documents are edited as Extended JSON. You can also type mongosh syntax, and types such as Decimal128 are preserved.

  • Format — pretty-print the document.
  • Revert — discard your edits.
  • Save (⌘S) — replace the document.
  • Delete… — delete the document.
  • + Document — start a new document, then Insert (⌘S). An _id ObjectId is added if you don't provide one.

The _id of an existing document can't be changed.

Read-only collections

Views, time-series collections and system.* collections are read-only.

Safe mode

Writes go through the connection's safe mode. The confirmation shows the equivalent mongosh command: replaceOne, insertOne or deleteOne.

Limitations

  • mongodb+srv:// URLs and replica-set discovery aren't supported. Use mongodb:// with one host of the cluster.
  • There is no authSource setting. Mantidb tries admin, then the connection's default database.
  • Over SSH, the tunnel doesn't reconnect automatically.
  • There is no command console.
